Our popular outdoor concert series returns with a spectacular spring lineup! Grab your blankets and lawn chairs, pack your picnic basket, and come hear some terrific music under a beautiful Forest Park sunset. In addition join us for free pre-concert activities for youths and families.

Black History Highlight Tours, Currents and Reflections
Every Twilight Tuesday join us for conversations about notable people and events in St. Louis’s African American history. The 25-minute tour takes place in Currents and Reflections. If there are more than 25 participants for the 5pm tour, we will offer a second tour at 5:30pm. Tour meets at Thomas Jefferson statue.

 Youth and Family Programs, North Lawn
• Make-and-Take Craft Activities – 4:30-7:30
• Outdoor Family Games – 4:30-7:30
• Balloon Art – 5:30-7:30
• Face Painting – 5:30-7:30

In the event of a weather cancellation, these activities are rain or shine and will resume as normal each Tuesday.

TWILIGHT TUESDAYS TIPS:

• Please do not block sidewalks

• Please do not sit or stand on landscaped areas

• Be respectful of those around you

• Please deposit all trash and recyclable items in receptacles provided

• Restrooms are located inside the Museum on all three levels

• Parking is available in the Twin Lots just south of the Visitor Center in Forest Park. There is also ample street parking on Lindell and in Forest Park itself.

• Please obey all no parking signs. Violators may be ticketed or towed.

• Please keep valuables with you at all times or leave them at home. Valuables include: purses, laptops, GPS devices, etc.

• Food and drink are available for purchase from Bixby’s, the Museum’s restaurant, and varying food trucks.

• Please leave the park and Museum grounds as nice as you found them for the next visitor to enjoy!

LaFayette Square Free Concert & Movie – July 20 6:30 pm July 19, 2013

Lafayette Square’s Concert and Movie series continues on Saturday, July 20 with a performance by the United States Air Force Hot Brass Band followed by a showing of “Back to the Future”. Hot Brass is an energetic and multi-talented group of musicians performing billboard and popular music hits, new and old. Because of the versatility of this high-powered ensemble, their performances are always in high demand.
Pre-movie activities begin at 6:30 pm and will include games, arts and crafts, and speakers. A photo exhibit will feature Lafayette Park—the oldest city park west of the Mississippi—over the last 125 years. “Back to the Future” will be shown at approximately 8:30 pm. Hope to see you then!

Not So Quiet Concert Series: Soulard Blues Band Tuesday July 16 – St Louis Public Library Downtown 6:30 pm July 15, 2013

Soulard Blues Band performs on July 16th in Central Library’s auditorium. This band, founded by Art Dwyer, has been playing the Blues for over 25 years. They are one of the longest lasting acts around – with nine straight wins in the “Best Blues Band” category in the River Front Times poll. They have several albums and they regularly play at regional festivals and events.

The Compton Hill Water Tower Full Moon Tour & Concert in the Park May 24 – starts 5:30 p.m.

The Water Tower and Reservoir Park are located on Grand Avenue just southeast of the Interstate 44/Grand Avenue.

The Water Tower is open to the public on the first Saturday of each month from April to November 2013 from Noon till 4 pm. Visitors are able to climb to the top of the 170-foot and enjoy a spectacular, 360-degree view of the metropolitan St. Louis area that stretches as far as Illinois and the Jefferson Barracks Bridge.  The Water Tower is also open on some special events such as the Grand South Grand House Tour.

Admission is $5 for adults; children 6 to 12 is $3; and children 5 and under will continue to be free. 

NOTE – There are 198 stairs and seven landings to the top.  This historic structure predates compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
