Movie Night – Back to the Future – August 2, 2014

Friends of Clifton Park will host our first Movie Night in the park on Saturday, August 2.  We hope to draw hundreds of people from ours and adjoining neighborhoods for a family-friendly evening under the stars!

Pre-movie fun with food trucks The Meltdown (grilled cheese), Taco Truck STL and Sia’s Italian Ice starts at 7 pm.  Movie starts at 8 pm.

 

About Clifton Park

Clifton Park is a charming community green space nestled into St. Louis’ Clifton Heights neighborhood. The park, what many call the “crown jewel of Clifton Heights”, hosts a lake that’s home to migrating ducks and geese, two beautiful fountains, a viewing deck and a boat house. Mature trees dot the sweeping landscapes of the park and flowers add cheer in every nook and cranny. There is a recreational area in the park as well with a basketball hoop and playground.

No matter the season, it seems the neighbors always have a reason to spend time in this wonderful, hidden St. Louis park. Sledding and ice skating in the winter; kite flying and frisbee the warm months of the year – the park is always full of life.

Ameren Fridge/Freezer Recycling

Rebates and Incentives: Fridge/Freezer Recycling

Let us come pick up your old working fridge or freezer (2001 or earlier models) for recycling – at no charge whatsoever to you – and we’ll pay you $50! We can also accept working air conditioners and dehumidifiers for recycling along with your qualifying fridge or freezer.

Why does Ameren Missouri want your old fridge or freezer?

Old refrigerators and freezers are giant energy wasters. When you keep them as a convenience rather than recycling these appliances, you may not realize how much you’re adding to your bill.If the appliance is more than 20 years old, it’s probably costing you at least $1001 per year in electricity. We want to get these energy hogs off the grid – that’s why we’re offering this great incentive.

Program Guidelines

You must be an Ameren Missouri residential electric customer. You must own the refrigerator or freezer. Your appliance must be 10-27 cubic feet. Your appliance must be a 2001 model or older; primary or secondary units are accepted. Your appliance must be in working (cooling) order and must be plugged in at the time of pickup. Your appliance will be picked up at no charge from the address listed on your billing account. The $50 incentive will be mailed to you within four weeks after appliance pickup. Offer is limited to three fridges/freezers per Ameren Missouri residential household per year and three air conditioners/dehumidifiers per household per year. The program is funded on a first-come, first-serve basis until funds are expended. Air conditioners and dehumidifiers do not qualify for rebates. They can, however, be picked up free of charge during a scheduled trip for a qualifying fridge or freezer.

No charge for acceptable items (working or not) —-
basically anything that has a cord or battery —-
Computers, Monitors, Printers, Keyboards, Laptops, Hard Drives,
Cell Phones, Pagers, Radios, Scanners, Speakers, VCR, DVD,
Fax Machines, Answering Machines, Televisions, Stereos,
Furnaces, Water Heaters, Air Conditioners, Microwaves,
Power Tools, Kitchen Appliances, etc.

Event is open to the public. No drop off fees.

EXCEPTIONS: No smoke detectors, glass lamps, batteries, light bulbs or fluorescent tubes.

Midwest Recycling is registered with the EPA and is Level 4 Certified with the Missouri Department of
Natural Resources. Midwest Recycling has a zero landfill policy. This event is open to Webster Groves
