A 5k tradition in St. Louis Hills raising funds to improve our parks for future generations of St Louis Hills neighbors.

8AM – 5k Run
9AM – 1 Mile Walk & Competitive Youth Run (**two different times are showing up on their information 9:45 am and 10 am**)

Entry Fees:
-$20 individual entry for either the 5K or 1 Mile Walk/Youth Run (one unisex t-shirt) by September 12 to guarantee t-shirt.
-$50 family entry (paper form only) includes 3 unisex t-shirts.
-$25 individual entry fee on Friday 9/18 or Saturday 9/19.

Location Starting Line will be at the intersection of Donovan & Itaska Streets along scenic Francis Park. The accurately measured course is arranged around the park and throughout the charming neighborhood of St. Louis Hills, finishing at the corner of Nottingham & Tamm Avenues. 1-Mile Walk, Youth Run & awards ceremony will take place at this corner in Francis Park.

Entry Fees: $20 individual entry for either the 5K or 1-Mile Walk/Youth Run (one unisex T-shirt). $50 family entry (includes three unisex T-shirts; paper registration only) $25 race-weekend registration (Friday & Saturday).

DIRECTIONS Hwy 40E to Hampton, south on Hampton (approx 3.5 miles) to Nottingham, west on Nottingham five blocks to Francis Park. Use St. Gabriel Church address (6303 Nottingham, 63109) on your GPS.

Grub & Groove in Francis Park 8/8/15 4:00- 10 pm St Louis Hills 63109 July 20, 2015

Grub and Groove is a free annual concert event in Francis Park brought to you by Friends of Francis Park.  The event showcases live music and food and drink from exceptional local restaurants.  While Grub and Groove is primarily an opportunity to celebrate the neighborhood, any proceeds from the event are used to benefit Francis Park in order to support the significant ongoing maintenance needs.  We want to keep it an attractive amenity for the neighborhood which promotes urban living to existing and potential new residents.

October 4: Outdoor Mass & Blessing of the Animals 4 pm – St Stan’s
The Blessing of animals is conducted in remembrance of St. Francis of Assisi’s love for all God’s creatures. We invite all the animals with their human friends to join us for a special outdoor Mass on Saturday, October 4th at 4:00 p.m. Let this joyful and beautiful ceremony remind us of the sacredness of all life.
This year we are combining this joyful celebration with an opportunity to help people make it through tough times with their best friends by their side. All our donations will be delivered to Bi-State Pet Food Pantry serving 150 families and over 500 pets in need every month. A donation box will be located in back of the church during September with final donations to be made on October 4. Items needed are: Canned dog and cat food (unopened); dry dog and cat food (opened or unopened); dog and cat treats (opened or unopened); cat litter (opened or unopened); gift cards (any amount) to PetSmart, PetCo, Target and Walmart. October 4: Outdoor Mass & Blessing of the Animals 4 pm – St Gabriel’s

St Gabriel will celebrate Mass in the Grass on Saturday October 4, 2014 at 4 pm in Francis Park.  Join us for the special liturgy outside.  Bring your lawn chairs or blankets for this mass, which will take the place of the usual indoor 5pm service.  In the event of inclement weather, mass will be held within in the church at 4 pm.Since October 4 is the Feast of St Francis of Assisi, know as the Patron Saint of animals and the environment, all are invited to bring their pets for a special blessing.  Participating pets should be friendly, socialable and on a leash.  And don’t forget to clean up after your pets.Immediately following mass plan to stay in Francis Park for a picnic with your family and friends.  The Holy Name Society will be barbecuing and selling hamburgers, hot dogs, bratwurst and more. St Gabriel the Archangel

Dogs and cats and birds, oh my! They’ll all be here—with their humans, of course—at Christ Church Cathedral, 1210 Locust St., across from Central Library. So invite all your friends, animals and humans, to join us—and be prepared to hear a choir of barks, meows, and screeches as these animals receive the blessings they deserve. Plus, there will be treats for humans as well as animals, along with new red bandanas we will hand out so our animal guests can be even more stylish. For everyone’s comfort and safety, all animals must be on leashes or in carriers or cages. Free parking is available on the Cathedral lot, the U.S. Bank lot, and on the street. (As the signage indicates, however, the Saint Louis University lot is not available for parking.)
